So, there have been a grand total of like two drops of rain so far, and yet as I was driving around downtown I noticed that everyone and their mother is huddling together under umbrellas.

Maybe it's that I prefer moderately cold weather and don't see what the big deal is, but my hypothesis is that this is just a convenient excuse to cop a feel without getting socked in the face outright. >.>

...I left the PLS building at 11:05 and the ground was soaking wet and it was drizzling. What land were you visiting? I my coat was pretty wet by the time I walked from the MU bus station to my car on the 4th floor of the parking structure. Wish I had brought my umbrella.

Well, you're a blanket hog, so you're pretty biased.

Rain=/=cold.

That's what people do when it rains: they get umbrellas.

As umbrellas are usually big and cumbersome, I generally associate them with, you know, storms, when you actually need one. Not when it's barely drizzling.

I think we need you to define 'barely drizzling' because it's raining here on my side of town.

Davis people are wimps when it comes to cold weather.

Im from up North in the mountains where it snows regularly. This shit that Davis gets is nothing.

Yeah, Im usually the one running around in January in a t-shirt and flip-flops and I get at least 10 people who ask me if Im cold. I never am.

I'm sorry the entire city of Davis couldn't live with you. Next time, send us all an invite and we can go ridicule another city together for not coming from an area with the exact same type of weather as your home town. :D

It's cleared up now but around 10-11 it was POURING on campus...and windy.

See, people aren't using umbrellas here. Not because it's dry - it wasn't. It was POURING earlier.

But it was so damn windy that trying to use an umbrella was an exercise in futility.

I would agree with your hypothesis except for one small pattern of observed behavior. Namely the attitude towards being crammed into a bus. If people really wanted to cop a feel they would gladly cram into the back of a jam packed bus. Sadly this is not the case and could prove a veritable hole in the dam that is your hypothesis.
