I need study buddies, guys. Are you taking EAE 129, 135, or 138 and need someone to be miserable with this quarter? Studying alone and doing all my homework alone is kind of difficult especially when I don't understand something and then everything goes downhill from there. I'm one of like 3 girls in all of my classes so you probably already know who I am. BE MY FRIEND PLEASE.

Alternatively, how do you make study buddies when you are in lecture? It's really difficult to just ask a random person if they want to study with you without sounding like a total creeper. We don't really have "discussions" anymore in the sense that students actually discuss things with each other. Discussions now are mainly just the TA telling us stuff and students occasionally asking questions. In one of my classes we don't even have a TA (wtf, right?) but the prof does headstands while she is lecturing so that's pretty cool.

Girls aren't creepers when they ask random people to be study buddies. Only male engineers are. Just speak up before lecture starts and be like, "Anyone want to study with me? This class sucks."

If a girl asks me [a guy] if I'd like to be a study buddy--it'll totally come off as her hitting on me, even though we know that wouldn't be the case for the OP.

Thus, "creeper," above and beyond gender boundaries.

just start by asking someone if they understood something. if they do, say : oh wow! thanks so much? do you want to study together? and if they dont say "me neither! do you want to study together? maybe we can work it out"

Check the group that talks to the professors right after lecture. Good study buddies there. Also, Smartsite chatroom is pretty good, depends on the class though. Bigger class size = better chance of finding a study buddy.

Sticking around after lecture = smart. I am generally afraid of professors because I don't want to sound stupid in front of them so I usually avoid them as much as possible.

In the past I have made study buddies in the smartsite chat room, but this quarter one prof is using smartsite, another is using myucd and another is using their own website. It is highly annoying. The one that is using smartsite doesn't have the chat enabled, so unfortunately that isn't an option right now.
