In case you were wondering...
This is why Nobu loses points for new favorite udon place:

1) They plopped half a hard boiled egg in it instead of a poached egg, wtf?
2) The menu says it comes with "vegetables"; I got one piece of broccoli
3) There was no chicken in mine, only a ton of fish (this could have been an oversight if they were scooping from a large pot, still annoying though)
4) The fish tasted bad and had a lot of bones in it

The noodles were good, but it's hard to screw those up.

What udon did you get? I got the Tempura Udon and it tasted just fine...except for the fact that my egg still had a shell on it. Also, I don't know why there were bones in yours, since the only fish I've ever had in my udon is fish cakes.

I ordered the Nabeyaki udon. At Osaka it came with fish cakes, some veggies, some shrimp, poached egg, chicken, and some actual fish (that tasted good and didn't have bones). At Nobu it came with 1 piece of broccoli, 1 shrimp, half a hard boiled egg, no chicken, and some gross, boney fish.

I'd always get the Nabeyaki Udon there...

It would have a tempura shrimp, a couple chunks of chicken, some salmon pieces, fishcake, yeah, that one piece of broccoli, and a soft-boiled egg.

I think the broth being so hot pushes the poach into soft-boiled territory. Heh, a couple places I've been to have had awesome Udon and then the egg is hard-boiled (which is okay by me, not a huge fan of runny yolks)

Sorry you didn't like it too much, but that was our go to place because the food was good, the price was right and no massive crowd like Fuji's.

Sad that it only comes with one piece of broccoli regularly. I thought I might have just gotten a lousy portion out of a larger pot. The egg was definitely hard boiled before it went into the soup. The yolk was hard and it was cleanly cut in half. I may try it again depending on how I feel about Zen Toro and Noodle Express once I try them. This whole "change" thing is so difficult.
