To-go places in Davis
I checked the wiki, and there's a page on the places that'll deliver you food, not so much on which places will let me get to-go at the door. Anyone know which restaurants are cool with that? I usually go to Hunan, Silver Dragon, Thai Nakorn, Teahouse, Ohana, or Kim's Mart, but I could use some new spots to pickup potluck food at.

Won't most places that do to-go do this?

Hometown and Sunrise definitely do.

Appleby's does pick up, but they are pretty slow with handling the payment. And their food is bland as fuck, but that might work for a potluck.

A lot of places do actually. Just think, most sit-in places need a take-out box for people who get full and want to take some home. So if they're going to stock that stuff anyway, why not?

Best bet though, is to see if the establishment has to-go drink cups. That's a good way to know for sure. If it has paper-cups, chances are, they will have take-out boxes.

Even buffets, if I recall correctly.

Burgers and Brew lets you phone in orders for pickup, with a 10-15 minute turnaround time.

I always get a big kick out of walking past everyone who's been waiting in line and walking out with my food a minute later.

This thread is now about tipping when you pick up orders. Does anyone do it? I figure that the server hasn't really done anything besides put stuff in a bag and tie it and deal with my money, but I still feel bad because they did SOMETHING. I usually tip a buck.
